Rise & Shine

#1 Chicken Biscuit from Sunrise Biscuit Kitchen (Chapel Hill, NC)

Long drive thru lines, but worth the wait. You’ve gotta grab a chicken biscuit!

Feeling hungry…order 2, no judgement! Enjoy watching them make your order, just be careful – drool may occur. Not burnt or bland, good basic seasonings.

Flaky buttery, fried crispy chicken, with egg and cheese to eat in the car before a long day at work, school, or exploring the town.

Why Not

#2 Nachos from Front Street Brewery (Wilmington, NC)

‘Nachos, get your nachos!’, except these aren’t your regular nachos. They have seasoned shredded chicken, with lots of goodness on them, very flavorful!

Open late nights for all those hunger pains after 11pm, check for specials like ½ price menu items, sip a hipster beer, and then walk downtown on the river walk.

Brewery is local, hip, and trendy, down town, with easy parking.

Hole in the Wall

#3 Chicken Salad from Mill Creek General Store (Mount Airy, NC)

This turned out to be a great find in a small town at an Amish Market

Sensational fresh taste, not mushy at all, on a baked fresh croissant. Grab pudding, taffy, chips, root beer, and pickled everything before you hit the road. Pleasant feel with outside seating.

The Locals

#4 Coconut Cream Cake from Indochine (Wilmington, NC)

This is a hidden gem – locals will kill me for sharing the secret! It is a zen, peaceful atmosphere with outdoor personal dining huts and amazing foods. Buddha décor and traditions that make you feel relaxed and happy. Get some yummy food at great prices.

Try the cabbage salad, pad see ew, and make sure you splurge on the CAKE, it’s to die for! If I was in prison and allowed a final dessert this would be it. Buttery, fresh coconut, moist mix, and melts in your mouth. Best birthday gift to someone.
