As we work on these the thought is, “Less talking, more pictures!” And maybe Dodger isn’t as hilarious to the rest of the world as he is to us, but as we scroll through the multitude of pictures it is just so hard to leave any out. This was our third trip out and we were a lot more confident and found some new things to try out. Off to Jordan Lake State Park!
“Mom, not much room for me…oh food!”
Set up complete
We found our walk-to beach access.
Have you met his other personality? This crazy dog is ‘Roger’!
Cool down before heading home.
Little pic before bed.
Day 2: Great tip when staying in a state park…if the park has hours it is closed, use that time to explore! We took a 7am walk and had the place to ourselves with the exception of staff doing some cleaning around the swimming beach.
Some of the campsites are close enough to the water you can have a really sweet setup!
As we figure out all of the outdoorsy camping stuff we always have to try new things. This time…the hammock. Success!!
He was not thrilled unless I was with him.
And then he loved it!
Chapel Hill, NC – Sometimes you need to head into town to explore. There is an amazing little place right in the heart of Chapel Hill on the way into the UNC campus. Sunrise Biscuit Kitchen is a small drive-thru that always has a line down Franklin Street.
Dodger watching his biscuit being made 😛
We headed back to the park after the sadness of the Chapel Hill farmers market not allowing dogs. We walked more trails and enjoyed our little private beach.
This boy loves his ball!
But he does say thank you for playing with him!
And that is the face of exhaustion!
Day 3: Last day was a lazy morning. Took time enjoying the last few walks. Here’s another helpful hint…just because your dog won’t bark and wake up all the other campers does not meant he others dogs camping won’t go crazy when they see you, opps!
Dodger and Leslie are not morning people!
Meals are often a standoff.
Kelley had never heard of #trumpyourdog…that has changed.
Late checkout time means we had the place to ourselves, so ball in the street.
Kelley hit a bit of silliness! No worries, no trees were harmed in the making of this photo!
